Adventures in Ucluelet in our Amazing Boats
We have two boats operating our tours: our Zodiac The Discovery, and our cabin cruise Dixie IV. The Zodiac is faster and thus provides a quicker tour, but can also sometimes get to a spot where whales are swimming that the other boat may not be able to reach. The cabin cruiser is a slower boat and allows for plenty of time to thoroughly look over an area without going past a whale while it is under water.
Bear and Bird Adventures in Ucluelet
In Ucluelet Harbour, low tide is usually the best time to find a Black Bear as they wander the shore looking under rocks for a meal. This trip is timed to take advantage of that. That’s not to say bears are never seen at higher tides, because they are; just not as often. It is also a pleasant harbour tour with quite an assortment of birds; Bald Eagles being the highlight. See the fishing boat activity at the docks. Harbour Seals and Sea Lions look for free meals from those who go on adventures in Ucluelet. We may have time to see a fish boat wreck, or go past the harbour mouth for some more dramatic coastal scenery.
